  • The high school band performs at many functions throughout the school year. There is both a Band class and an Advanced Band class where students learn to play their instruments and work on their skills. Then there are extracurricular activities all year long. We have a marching band in the Fall months. We have a jazz band and a concert band in the winter months. Then we become a symphonic band for graduation time. We perform at football games, concerts, parades, festivals and community events. Band members are allowed to apply for leadership positions and take ownership of Band activities. Drum Major, Captain, or Section Leader of a school band looks great on any resume as it shows you can organize and lead peers in successful performances. No experience necessary, but dedication to practicing and renting an instrument may be required. You do not need to be in the classes to be in the Band, though being in the classes helps a lot. In the Fall we rehearse on Wednesday nights and after school. See the schedule in Google Classroom. See Mr. Nelson in room 8 to discuss.
